Filming
We use the DJI Pocket 2 as our primary camera when vlogging. It's small, compact and easy to use. We purchased the Creator Combo which included a clip on with extra battery and microphone which was worth the extra cost.
The DJI Pocket 2 Charging Case has been invaluable allowing us to recharge the Pocket 2 on the move.
All our equipment is stored in the SUREWO Waterproof Carrying Case which fits the Pocket 2, Charging Case, lenses, microphone and more.
The iPhone 14 Pro Max is our secondary camera and can provide some great shots. It works better in low-light than the pocket and takes better photos.
We use the PGYTECH Phone/Pocket 2 holder when talking to camera so we can have a good visual of what the camera shows. Its also good for complex shots.
This is all backed up with the Anker Magnetic Battery Pack for iPhone which uses magsafe to charge.
Our final camera is for fun shots - Insta360 X3.
We decided not to take chances with a drone so use the Insta360 for flying/high shots and have used this brand for several years now.
The shots come out better if you are using the 3m extension pole.
For both the DJI Pocket 2 and Insta 360 we use SanDisk Extreme.
Editing
Our on-the-go laptop is the Apple 2022 MacBook Pro M2. It handles Final Cut Pro well although it may struggle with complex editing.
All our data is backed up on the LaCie Rugged Mini. The drive is secured with an orange rubber buffer which is great if your clumsy like us. We opted for the 4TB as we film in 4K and files can be rather large.
At home we have the Apple 2020 iMac 5k 3.3GHz. Its great for editing and handles complex builds very well plus the screen size is great for viewing the timeline.
Our must buy for editing on an iMac is the Apple Magic Trackpad. It makes it so much easier to navigate the timeline and we use it in conjunction with the mouse.
We use Final Cut Pro to edit our vlogs. Its easy to use and is incredibly powerful.
